Recently, Liu Guangyang, Secretary of the Dapeng New District Party Working Committee, and Meng Jinjin, Deputy Secretary of the New District Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee, met with Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainment Group. Both sides held in-depth discussions on jointly promoting the accelerated construction of the Shenzhen LEGOLAND Resort.
It is understood that, Currently, of the 81 individual buildings in the theme park, 57 are under construction, of which 38 have been topped out; the largest single building, "LEGOLAND Imagination World," has been successfully topped out, the roof panels of Imagination World have been installed, and the roof equipment scaffolding is under construction; the foundation work for some roller coasters has been completed; and the internal road network construction has been completed. At the same time, more than 20 supporting infrastructure projects around the park, including railways, expressways, hotels, and parks, are also being accelerated, with a total investment of 30 billion yuan. The track area of the special large bridge of the new Dapeng station section of the Shenzhen-Huizhou intercity Dapeng branch line has successfully passed the handover acceptance; the new Dapeng parking lot and Dapeng station have been successfully topped out; and the New Haidao (Xindong Road-Bidong Road) has obtained preliminary budget approval and been handed over for construction. Construction of transportation and other infrastructure is proceeding in full swing.
The Shenzhen LEGOLAND Resort covers a planned area of 583,400 square meters, with a total investment of 6.945 billion yuan, and is exclusively operated by Merlin Entertainment Group of the UK. The project will integrate Chinese local history, culture, ecological elements, and Lingnan characteristics, relying on innovative technologies to provide children and parents with interactive experiences full of imagination and creativity. At the same time, continuing the concept of "education through entertainment," it will set up interactive entertainment experiences such as creative workshops, driving schools, and rescue academies, and pay attention to integrating the concept of sustainable development throughout the construction and operation cycle. The project plans to build three themed areas: a theme park, a water park, and an exploration park (long-term).
According to Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainment Group: The Shenzhen LEGOLAND Resort has entered a rapid construction phase. Upon completion, it will become the first international IP parent-child family entertainment theme park resort in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and also the second LEGOLAND Resort in China. We will strive to put it into operation as soon as possible, allowing visitors from all over the world to enjoy the fun brought by LEGOLAND.
