Overview of the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA)
Purpose:
The China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA) follows the Constitution, laws, regulations, and national policies, as well as to upholds social ethics. CAAPA serves its members and enterprises while also contributing to the government and society to foster growth within the industry. It accepts guidance from government departments, undertakes tasks assigned by them, and acts as a bridge between the government and its members. It defends the legitimate rights and interests of its members, maintains fair competition, unites a broad membership, ensures the safety of tourists, and strives for the prosperity and development of the amusement industry in our country.

Our Responsibilities:
1. Actively voice the concerns of member organizations, mediate relationships between them, and safeguard their legal rights;
2. Improve self-regulatory mechanisms, advance industry integrity, regulate business conduct, and create a level playing and harmonious market environment that upholds the interests of both the country and the industry at large;
3. Conduct thorough industry research and proactively inform the government about the status of industry development, giving input on development strategies and policy regulations;
4. Take an active role in studying and formulating relevant laws and regulations, macroeconomic control and industrial policies; participate in developing and amending industry standards, development plans, and entry requirements to optimize industry governance and promote healthy, sustainable growth;
5. Provide consulting services in areas such as laws & regulations, policies, technologies, management, and market practices;
6. Conduct industry statistics to stay informed about domestic and international industry trends, collect, analyze, and publish industry information, and organize exchanges in economic and technical fields;
7. Manage periodicals and websites in accordance with applicable regulations;
8. Organize expos and trade shows based on the evolving needs of the market and industry, creating opportunities for businesses to expand their market reach;
9.Provide robust support for enterprises in navigating international markets, playing a crucial role in safeguarding Chinese companies' interests and supporting their participation in global competition.
Scope of Services:
The Articles of Constitution of the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions outlines the following scope of services:
1. Conduct investigations and research on the status of industry reform and development, advising the government in developing reform plans, development strategies, industrial policies, and technology policies;
2. Track and study the implementation of technical, economic policies, and regulations pertinent to industry progress, and timely communicate industry perspectives to the government;
3. Perform industry statistics and collect, analyze, and publish industry information upon approval and authorization from the relevant governmental authorities.
4. Summarize and share experiences in safety management, operational management, product development, and quality management to boost the competitiveness of businesses;
5. Assist the government in organizing and revising various industry standards related to technology, economics, and management, while driving their effective implementation; conduct industry inspections and evaluations, urging corrective actions for products and businesses failing to meet the standards, and advising relevant government departments to take administrative measures if required;
6. Develop "codes of conduct" tailored to the unique characteristics of the industry, establishing a self-regulatory mechanism that standardizes self-management practices and encourages fair competition among businesses;
7. Accept commissions to conduct preliminary research and feasibility studies on major investments, renovations, and development projects within the industry, assessing their advanced nature, economic soundness, and feasibility, while providing actionable recommendations; provide guidance for procurement and project bidding for clients;
8. Gather and provide feedback on product quality information within the industry, offering consulting services to help companies improve their products; recommend high-quality industry products to Chinese and international users, and assist the government in improving quality management practices in the industry;
9. Support government departments in the licensing process for amusement machine producers; keep track of the production conditions and quality control status of licensed companies, recommending corrective measures for those with identified issues, and supplying evidence for government departments during re-evaluations and license renewals; aid in implementing safety inspections for the use of amusement machines;
10. Organize various forms of international technical exchange activities for businesses and host domestic and international exhibitions relevant to the industry, thereby creating opportunities for companies to broaden their reach in both domestic and global markets;
11. Undertake commissioned evaluations of industry products and technologies, organizing businesses to engage in technical exchanges while promoting new products, technologies, processes, and materials;
12. Analyze and study the quality and structure of the industry's workforce, organizing specialized training sessions as needed;
13. Provide direction to amusement park and attraction companies in making ideological progress, fostering the cultivation of corporate spirit and culture;
14. Produce and publish publications pertaining to the amusement industry;
15.Undertake other tasks as mandated by government authorities.
Organizational Structure:
The highest authority of CAAPA is the Members' Representative Assembly, while the executive body is the Council. On March 31, 2019, the Seventh Members' Representative Assembly of the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions elected its Seventh Council. On the same day, the inaugural meeting of the Seventh Council was convened to elect council members, executive council members, the president, vice presidents, and the secretary-general. The current composition includes 159 council members, 53 executive council members, 1 president, 12 vice presidents, and 1 secretary-general.
CAAPA operates under a system of presidential office meetings to deliberate on and decide important matters related to the industry and the association while the council is not in session.
