The Dragon Boat Festival holiday in 2024 is approaching. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism reminds all tourists:

I. Pay attention to travel safety during the flood season. Currently, most parts of southern China have entered the flood season, and tourists participate in many water-related tourism activities such as dragon boat racing. During your trip, pay close attention to meteorological warning information and local safety tips. Adjust your itinerary and take emergency precautions according to weather conditions and warning prompts. When sightseeing in mountainous areas, valleys, etc., be wary of the safety risks posed by natural disasters such as landslides, falling rocks, debris flows, and flash floods. Do not play in waters without safety guarantees.

II. Consciously abide by safety regulations. When driving a motor vehicle or taking public transportation, fasten your seat belts throughout the journey. When self-driving, maintain good vehicle condition and avoid fatigue driving and drunk driving. When taking sightseeing boats, wear life jackets as required and refuse to board sightseeing boats that are not equipped with necessary life-saving equipment. When visiting scenic spots, public cultural venues, and cultural relics protection units, strictly abide by fire safety and various safety management regulations.

III. Make preparations before your trip. As the temperature gradually rises after summer, be sure to prepare sunshade and heatstroke prevention items and medicines, replenish water in time, and avoid prolonged outdoor activities in high temperatures. Reasonably plan your itinerary based on the weather, traffic conditions of the places you pass through and your destination, and make advance inquiries about the opening hours of tourist attractions during the holiday period and make ticket reservations. Do not go to undeveloped, unopen areas that lack safety guarantees. Closely monitor the security situation and precautions of your outbound travel destination and do not go to high-risk areas.

IV. Be cautious when participating in high-risk tourism projects. According to your physical condition, cautiously participate in water activities such as boating, rafting, snorkeling, and scuba diving, and high-risk tourism projects such as high-altitude, high-speed, and adventure activities, and do what you can. Learn the safety tips in advance, listen to the guidance of professionals, and do not do anything that may endanger yourself or others.

V. Travel in a civilized and orderly manner. Respect the cultural traditions, customs, and religious beliefs of your destination, and abide by local laws and regulations. Protect the ecological environment, protect cultural relics and historical sites, cherish public facilities, and promote a new style of civilized tourism. Observe public order, be tolerant and considerate of the waiting caused by traffic congestion and increased tourist flow in scenic areas, and follow the guidance of staff.
