Kings Island is one of the flagship parks of the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. The famous "Son of Beast" roller coaster was once located at Kings Island. After the Son of Beast roller coaster was dismantled in 2009, the "Banshee" roller coaster was created.
"Banshee" is one of the world's largest inverted roller coasters, covering a large area, approximately 51m high, 1257m long, with a top speed of 109km/h, and 7 inversions. In terms of scale, it is a very large inverted roller coaster.

According to reports, a visitor climbed over the safety barrier of the "Banshee" roller coaster, entered the operating restricted area, and was struck by the oncoming train. Park staff responded quickly, sending the injured visitor to a local Cincinnati hospital, and the "Banshee" roller coaster was immediately closed.
This incident is reminiscent of an accident in June 2008 at Six Flags Over Georgia, involving the "Batman The Ride" roller coaster. A 17-year-old boy climbed over two barriers, entered the operating area of the suspended roller coaster, and was hit by the moving coaster.
Some reports suggest the boy was trying to retrieve a lost hat, while others say he was simply taking a shortcut.
This incident was not related to the roller coaster's operation. The main cause of the accident was the visitor's unauthorized climbing over clearly marked barriers.
Entering the restricted area of a running roller coaster is extremely dangerous; therefore, high-speed roller coasters have strict boundary regulations. Suspended roller coasters differ from seated roller coasters; their tracks are above the cars, and the area beneath the cars is completely open. A large area within the restricted zone is normal ground, making it more difficult to judge the collision range of a high-speed roller coaster.
When visiting amusement parks, please follow all safety regulations and do not enter restricted areas without proper authorization from park staff.
We hope visitors will take this as a warning, improve their safety awareness during their visit, avoid taking chances, and prevent unnecessary trouble. At the same time, amusement parks can also improve their safety operations and take more measures to prevent similar incidents.
