The first sci-fi scenario-based amusement park in China, Nanhu Park renovation project (i.e., Guangdong Nanhu Amusement Park renovation project) progress update, As of now, the Nanhu Park renovation project, mainly amusement equipment, and other supporting facilities, have successively entered the installation stage, and are expected to enter trial operation in December.

Nanhu Park is located at No. 983, Tongheroad, Baiyun District, covering an area of 250,000 square meters, with a main play area exceeding 110,000 square meters. It opened on September 28, 1985.
As the first theme park in South China and one of Guangzhou's landmark scenic spots, Nanhu Amusement Park is well-known alongside Oriental Amusement Park, World Wonders, and Aerospace Wonders. It was once hailed as "one of the four major amusement parks in Guangzhou" and was the "happy planet" of countless Guangzhou people's childhoods.
On July 1, 2023, the Nanhu Park renovation project officially started, and the main structure of the first building was topped out last December.

What will it be like?
The project will take the New History Galaxy No. 983 parallel universe creation of the Earth Star Gate Special Zone as its background, creating China's first sci-fi scenario-based amusement theme park, "Nanhu Park NH983".
Under the park's new positioning and model, tourists will enter an online and offline combined real-scene sci-fi game world, activating camp missions through interaction with different amusement equipment, performances, and NPCs, exploring together, collecting story fragments, and completing missions.
The Phase 1 project of the park is planned to start trial operation in December 2024. The Phase 2 project is under planning and will create a "multiple digital worlds" amusement group to further enrich the park's immersive sci-fi experience.

will become a new cultural tourism landmark for Guangzhou
The project has been included in the key construction projects at the provincial, municipal, and district levels and is an important support point for Baiyun District to build a 10-billion-level cultural tourism industry cluster. After completion, it will effectively activate the commercial atmosphere of the Nanhu area and create an innovative digital park integrating cultural tourism and digital creativity.
In the future, Nanhu Park will strive to become a new cultural tourism landmark for the entire district, city, province, and even the country. 文旅新名片。 Adding more to Baiyun District cultural, technological, and fashionable elements.
Currently, Baiyun District is creating a Guangdong Provincial Whole-Region Tourism Demonstration Zone and actively building a 10-billion-level cultural tourism creative industry cluster and a consumer cultural tourism creative area.
According to the announcement draft of the "Pan Nanhu" area overall planning released by the Baiyun District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports in February this year:
The Pan Nanhu area, where the Nanhu Park project is located, will create a national-level tourism resort and build a "Pan Nanhu National-level Industrial-City Ecological Cultural Tourism Integration Demonstration Zone, Bay Area International Exhibition Hall" oriented towards high-quality development. The Nanhu Park renovation project is undoubtedly an important part of it.

The "Pan Nanhu" area will combine the target customer groups of the area, leverage the advantages of cultural tourism "new infrastructure", and re-gather the area's cultural tourism, ecological, and leisure resources, taking "pan-cultural tourism" as the main line, creating five major Pan Nanhu IPs, providing tourists with experiences and consumption with interesting, artistic, and educational characteristics.
