In recent years, with the increase in tourists' spending power on travel, the characteristics and quality of accommodation have greatly influenced people's choice of destination. Hotels and resorts with water parks are frequently featured in various travel guides. Baishui, a world-renowned water park designer and supplier, has completed over 300 hotel and resort projects globally, and was among the first to recognize the enormous potential of this niche market; and in 2021 year, joined hands with the hotel and leisure consulting firm ( hereinafter referred to as H&LA) released the world's first in-depth industry research report, "Global Analysis of the Impact of Water Park Facilities on Hotels and Resorts."

This year, Baishui once again joined hands with H&LA to conduct follow-up research and analysis of the report and data, releasing the latest version of the global analysis report . The report obtained from 'STR' a total of six sets of global data on hotel and resort occupancy rates, average daily rates (hereinafter referred to as ADR ) and revenue per available room ( RevPAR hereinafter referred to as ) data further showing that hotels equipped with water park facilities have higher occupancy rates, higher room rates, and higher ancillary revenue. The table below clearly demonstrates this finding: Overall, North America is the most mature market in this field. In 2023, the RevPAR of all hotels in North America equipped with Baishui equipment was 111.3% higher than the overall average for US resorts and hotels, and the resort RevPAR was 29.1% higher. The report data proves that using added water park facilities to increase the value and revenue of hotels and resorts in the local market is effective.

In recent years, this trend has gradually emerged in the Asia-Pacific region, with some leading hotels and resorts already benefiting from it.

Report data shows that the RevPAR of hotels and resorts in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions equipped with Baishui equipment is 119.6% higher than the local average. Baishui has conducted in-depth cooperation with leading hotel and resort brands in the Asia-Pacific region and has observed the following successful experiences.

Facilitating Destination Transformation:

Studio City Macau Water Park

In recent years, the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region has actively promoted Macao's transformation into a world tourism and leisure center. Against this backdrop, Studio City invested in the construction of the only water park in Macao, with an area of over 26,000 square meters, both indoor and outdoor, 100% supplied by Baishui.

The all-weather water park not only brings unique competitiveness to Studio City, but also extends guests' stay time and other consumption, further enhancing Macao's exciting leisure and entertainment experience at the Asian and international levels, helping to promote government policies. "Macao's current focus is on food and shopping, and attractions are also essential," said Melissa Chung, Director of Attractions, Recreation and Spa at Studio City. "Macao's first water park is not only very valuable to guests staying at our hotel, but also serves the local Macao community and tourists, and provides more job opportunities for locals."

Since the opening of the outdoor section of the Studio City Water Park in 2021, it has been well-received by hotel guests and local tourists, and has won numerous major international industry awards.

Enhancing the Playability of Large-Scale Entertainment Complexes:

Shanghai Yaoxue Ice and Snow World

Developing hotel resorts with water park facilities within large-scale entertainment complexes is also becoming a trend. Shanghai Yaoxue Ice and Snow World, the world's largest indoor ski resort, is a 350,000-square-meter project. In addition to an indoor ski resort covering approximately 90,000 square meters, it will also feature an indoor and outdoor all-weather water park with over 15 water attractions, a star-rated resort hotel, a multi-functional convention center, and an ice and snow-themed commercial town.
