Recently, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, announced a series of new updates for Disney theme parks, cruises, and other experiences. In addition to the new Spider-Man themed attraction at Shanghai Disneyland, there are also expansion plans for these theme parks and cruises that are equally noteworthy! 4 new cruise ships, 6 new theme parks, 14 new projects, 5 new shows!
Whether it's "Monsters, Inc.", "Cars," "Indiana Jones," "Encanto," "Avatar," "The Lion King," or the Disney villains that make fans tremble, they are all about to bring you a more immersive experience!
Among the 14 new projects, some are based on the above story themes, while others are based on other stories, such as "Avengers," "Spider-Man," and the first project themed on "Coco"! The latter will soon land at Disney California Adventure, attracting visitors to embark on a journey through the Land of the Dead!
Five new shows and nighttime spectaculars will also be staged at Disney parks worldwide, including "Disney Starlight"—a new nighttime parade coming soon to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World!
"Today, we showcased Disney’s uniquely rich new experiences. All the new projects we announced are progressing smoothly, and fans will soon be able to witness these new experiences become a reality." said D’Amaro.

Between 2027 and 2031, Disney Cruise Line will add 4 new ships! At that time, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Disney's exceptional entertainment, signature cuisine, and impeccable service in more places around the world in 13 different ways.

Monsters, Inc. Theme Park
The world's first Monsters, Inc. themed park will begin construction next year at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Orlando. The park will feature Disney's first suspended roller coaster, where visitors can experience the thrill of speeding through the factory doors like Mike Wazowski and Sulley.

Cars Theme Park
Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Orlando will see its largest expansion ever! Pixar Animation Studios' beloved Cars series will join the Frontierland area, with two new experiences taking you beyond Radiator Springs into the wilderness: one is a thrilling off-road rally; the other is a family-friendly project that even little racers can participate in.

Villains Land
Magic Kingdom will welcome a new themed area dedicated to Disney villains—"Villains Land." This area includes two themed projects, dining, and shopping venues, and is currently under construction. Here, the fairy tale of "happily ever after" may be out of reach. This themed area will boldly present a unique and magical Disney experience.

Tropical Americas
The new themed area "Tropical Americas" will debut at Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando! Here, you will experience two new projects—follow Indiana Jones into an ancient Mayan temple for a thrilling adventure; or step into the Casita in "Encanto" and embark on an adventure after gaining magical talents. In addition, there will be a carousel where you can play with Disney's adorable animals! This area is scheduled to open in 2027.

Avatar Themed Experience
At Disney California Adventure, a brand-new Avatar themed experience is coming soon! There will be a unique project inspired by "Avatar: The Way of Water" and subsequent new works, taking you on an immersive experience of the dynamic, exciting, and spectacular Pandora.

A Magical Life
A new show called "Walt Disney – A Magical Life" will premiere next year at the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland in California, where you will see the first vocal animatronic figure of Mr. Walt Disney! After its premiere, the show will alternate with "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" for visitors.

Avengers Themed Experience
Superheroes will appear in more Disney parks around the world! In addition to the new Spider-Man themed roller coaster launching at Shanghai Disneyland, Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure will add two projects: "Avengers Infinity Defense" and "Stark Flight Lab"!

Tomorrowland at Hong Kong Disneyland will also feature a large-scale project where Spider-Man and one of his formidable opponents will "face off"!
Lion King Themed Area
The World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris is expected to open in 2026. Following closely behind is the upcoming Lion King themed area in Adventureland. A variety of dining, shopping, and character interaction experiences will be available, and this first Lion King-themed water ride will take you deep into the caves beneath Pride Rock, exploring Simba's journey from cub to king!

Ming-Che Tsai joined creative leaders from various Walt Disney Company studios—Jennifer Lee from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pete Docter from Pixar Animation Studios, Kevin Feige from Marvel Studios, and Dave Filoni from Lucasfilm—to discuss the extensive collaboration between Disney and Epic Games, exploring how Disney's powerful storytelling can be showcased in this vibrant new environment. They shared how well-known characters and stories can converge in a connected universe where fans can not only watch and play, but also create their own Disney stories.
The team also announced upcoming new characters and skins for Fortnite, including Disney villains, Incredibles, and The Mandalorian themes. Additionally, they released a preview of the next Marvel-themed season, starring Doctor Doom, who will appear in the game on August 16th.
