According to reports, the resort covers an area of approximately 580,000 square meters and is exclusively operated by Merlin Entertainment Group of the UK. As the first international IP parent-child family entertainment theme park resort in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, its construction progress has always attracted much attention.

Main building of "Lego Land Imagination World" Entering the capping stage

John Jakobsen and his team conducted a field inspection of the Shenzhen Lego Land Resort and exchanged information on its latest progress.

During the inspection, John Jakobsen said: "Over the past year, the Shenzhen Lego Land Resort has been steadily progressing in its brick-by-brick construction, committed to creating a safe, high-quality, creative, and imaginative resort experience for everyone." He revealed that the major themed areas in the theme park are about to complete their civil engineering work.

Among them, the most iconic themed area, "Lego Land Imagination World," has made significant progress. Its main building, the largest single building in the park, successfully completed the steel structure pipe truss hoisting, a key engineering node, at the end of November 2024, and has now entered the capping stage.

It is expected that the construction of the resort will enter an accelerated phase in 2025.

Transportation facilities and infrastructure Progress update

It is reported that in addition to the orderly progress of the park construction, the surrounding transportation facilities and infrastructure have also made progress.

Relevant officials from Dapeng New District revealed that the new large area where the Shenzhen Lego Land Resort is located has been included in the key construction area of Dapeng New District. To further improve the supporting facilities around the project, Dapeng New District is comprehensively promoting the construction of more than 20 supporting projects, including hotels, transportation, municipal works, parks, and intercity rail, with a total investment of 30 billion yuan.

According to reports, currently, the main line of Pingxi Road serving Lego Land has been completed, the main structure of the Xinda parking lot of the "Mountain and Sea Express Train" Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Dapeng Branch Line, starting from Longcheng Station in Longgang District and ending at Xinda Station in Dapeng New District, has been capped, and the municipal roads within the area have been opened to traffic. The Pengnan 110KV substation has completed its exterior and equipment installation, and supporting facilities such as the Xinda passenger transport hub and the reconstruction project of the Xinda sea dike have been successively started. The official said, "In the future, Dapeng New District will continue to adhere to the new development concept of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing, further accelerate the construction of supporting infrastructure around the Lego Land project, provide high-quality services, create a good development environment, and consistently support the construction of the Shenzhen Lego Land Resort project."

Regarding the upcoming Shenzhen Lego Land Resort, homestay operators in Dapeng New District have also expressed their expectations. They generally believe that the completion of the park will bring considerable passenger flow to homestays. Gong Zhongfang, director of the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Association Homestay Branch and founder of the Daorui brand, said in an interview that she hopes the park will open as soon as possible to attract more parent-child family tourists and enhance the tourism popularity and economic vitality of Dapeng New District. She believes that the completion of Lego Land will not only drive the development of related industries and create job opportunities, but also help improve the overall tourism image and attractiveness of Dapeng New District.
