In order to thoroughly implement the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the boat capsizing accident in Qixian City, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism issued an urgent notice on the evening of May 4, requiring all localities to draw profound lessons, resolutely overcome complacency, and further strengthen the safety production work of culture and tourism.


 


 

The notice requires that all localities should further improve their political standing, consolidate the main responsibilities of tourist attractions, public cultural units, and cultural and tourism operating units, focus on key areas and places, strengthen the safety management of large-scale performance activities, and strengthen the safety hazard investigation and rectification of facilities and equipment such as cable cars, amusement facilities, special motor vehicles, and boats in tourist attractions.

Strictly require travel agencies to fully implement various management regulations such as tourist chartered cars.

Strengthen the fire safety management of places with dense crowds, focusing on investigating illegal electricity use, blocking safety exits, etc., urging tourist attractions to strengthen fire safety tips, and strictly controlling outdoor fires. Strengthen the prevention and response to extreme weather, closely monitor meteorological conditions, issue early warning information in a timely manner, and do a good job in emergency plans and handling of emergencies. If necessary, resolutely stop the operation of facilities and equipment and close tourist attractions. Strengthen duty and standby to ensure smooth information flow, strengthen safety tips in key areas and places, remind tourists to be cautious when participating in high-risk projects, and avoid visiting undeveloped and open areas lacking safety guarantees.
