Recently, a major piece of news exploded on social media. The world's first Want Want themed park, "Want Want Special Experience Hall," is set to officially open in July in Wangcheng District, Changsha, Hunan! The project completed its main structure topping out on January 2, 2025, and is currently in the interior decoration and equipment debugging phase.

Want Want Park is located at the intersection of Puri Avenue and Wangcheng Avenue in Wangcheng District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, adjacent to Want Want's first factory on the mainland, offering convenient transportation and covering an area of 10,000 square meters. This project not only transforms classic Want Want snack IPs into immersive amusement facilities but also creates an "edible fairy tale world" with "food safety + cultural education" at its core.

From the giant Want Want Milk Can building to the Snow Cracker Ferris wheel, from an April Fool's joke to physical completion, this four-year brand fantasy journey is finally approaching its highlight moment.

The park is divided into four major themed sections: Brand History Museum, Miniature Factory, VR "Want Want Universe," and AI Snack Recommendation.

The main entrance is a three-story "Want Want Milk Can" shape, covered with red metallic paint and LED screens, capable of dynamically playing classic advertisements at night. The design team transformed Want Want product lines into tangible architecture, including: Snow Cracker Moonlight Ferris Wheel: 30 meters in diameter, with cabins designed in the shape of snow crackers, covered with reflective coating, appearing like a floating luminous full moon at night; a 15-meter high spiral slide, whose appearance replicates the wavy pattern of the "Lang Wei Xian" snack packaging, with vegetable powder fragrance sprayed inside the slide; and "Xiao Xiao Su" Mine Adventure, where the roller coaster track winds through "gold mine"-shaped rockeries, with carriages resembling "Xiao Xiao Su" snack boxes, triggering a "crunch" sound effect upon diving.

The park breaks the boundaries of traditional amusement parks by integrating snack consumption into the play flow: The end point of the [O-Pao Crazy Roller Coaster] features a free-drink station, offering limited edition O-Pao fruit milk; the [Want Want Milk Rapid Ride] water channel simulates the flowing texture of milk, with splashes carrying a milky aroma; at the [Bond Coffee Lab], visitors can DIY their coffee and pair it with Want Want snack blind boxes.

Despite high expectations, criticisms have not been absent. When the conceptual map was first revealed on April Fool's Day in 2021, netizens believed "Want Want Milk Rapid Ride" was just a joke, and even after it became reality, some still joked, "Will what comes out be milk powder?" Secondly, opening concurrently with LEGOLAND (Shanghai) and iQIYI Park (Yangzhou), Want Want competes differently with a "lightweight IP + nostalgia marketing" strategy. Some parents questioned whether a "snack theme misleads children," to which the official response was that an additional food safety popular science exhibition area would be added.

It is reported that Want Want Park is not an isolated project but a part of the group's cross-industry ecosystem. When those born in the 90s and 00s hold their children's hands and step into this snack-built utopia, Want Want Park transcends being merely a commercial project, becoming a place where a generation's collective memories are revived. As netizens have said: "It's like a can of Want Want Milk that never expires, perfectly sweet, with full marks for nostalgia."
