From May 8-9, the 2025 Water Park Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement Executive Training Class, hosted by the China Amusement Machine and Amusement Park Association (CAAPA), was held at Hangzhou Kaiyuan Sen Holiday Resort. Theme packaging is a design technique that deeply integrates visual and sensory experiences with story themes. Through meticulous craftsmanship and creative integration, it brings visitors a unique and profound scene experience. The construction of theme packaging is different from traditional decoration, and mostly non-standard products. Due to its special attributes between art and engineering, common materials and methods such as TCP, GRP, stainless steel, and painting are often used in the process of restoring scenes and plans.


A comparison and analysis of the advantages, disadvantages, and costs of each method were made, and a detailed analysis and introduction of the control points and key process methods for each method were given.





 

Secondly, innovative practices that connect physical space with scene power, technology, and culture to empower each other were also shared. Traditional theme packaging is based on restoring reality to simulate, while now theme packaging plays a major role in creating the park's theme atmosphere and worldview. Past experiences and standards are to better empower the present and ensure that future innovations are more grounded while maintaining leadership. This is mainly divided into the following points:


1. Convey the core of the story and build scene value. Use creativity to drive product value.







Summary: Cost-controllable, meets filming requirements, and generates buzz.


2. Technological integration. Integrated sound, light, electricity, and water create new experiences; materials are the marrow, technology is the nerve, and aesthetics are the soul.




 

3. Combining aesthetics and function. A new type of water entertainment space that controls costs, emphasizes equipment, experience, and social interaction, and integrates aesthetics.





Finally, the speaker shared their views and outlook on the future development direction of theme packaging.


1. Reject excessive packaging; focus on quality, not quantity.


The Pareto principle: rarity increases value. The craftsmanship of theme packaging can easily achieve artistic scenes, but too much art reduces the sense of value. Use 80% of the budget for 20% of the work, improving standards to increase the overall value of the project.


2. Cost control


- Appropriate investment: Good design is the first step. From the beginning of the design, we must adhere to the principles of cultural empowerment and scene innovation, avoid excessive packaging, and control costs from the source; - Material substitution: In terms of expressing scene power, the methods and materials used are diversified and flexible, and substitutions can also be beautiful;

- Process grading: Use different theme packaging methods for customer-facing and non-customer-facing areas to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

3. Strengthen the scene; cultural empowerment


Theme packaging empowers culture: Building consumption scenes, social scenes, and life scenes emphasizes the value of cultural attributes. A cultural and tourism project that incorporates local culture forms a stable gravitational field, and this field constitutes the engine of passenger flow and the driving force for repeat visits.


4. Material integration; enhance artistic style




Use flocking, books, paper, and acrylic to create diverse artistic scenes, making every investment in packaging maximize its value.
