2025 marks the concluding year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Over the past five years, we have pressed ahead with determination and courage, overcoming numerous difficulties and challenges, and successfully achieving our goals and tasks, thus taking steady steps on the new journey toward Chinese-style modernization. China’s economic aggregate has continuously crossed new milestones, and this year it is expected to reach 140 trillion yuan. Our economic strength, scientific and technological prowess, national defense capabilities, and overall national power have all reached new heights. Lucid waters and lush mountains have become a vibrant backdrop, and the people’s sense of gain, happiness, and security has steadily grown stronger. The five-year journey has been truly extraordinary, and these achievements have not come easily. Each and every one of you—through your hard work, dedication, and relentless pursuit—has helped forge a thriving and prosperous China. I pay tribute to every single one of you who has worked so diligently and tirelessly!

This year, notably, we solemnly commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and established Taiwan’s Restoration Day. This grand national celebration was majestic and awe-inspiring; the glory of victory will forever be recorded in history, inspiring all sons and daughters of China to remember the past, honor our martyrs, cherish peace, and forge a bright future—thus uniting the tremendous strength needed for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

We rely on innovation to empower high-quality development. Deep integration between science and technology and industry has spurred a flurry of innovative breakthroughs: large-scale AI models are racing ahead, and we’ve achieved new milestones in independent chip R&D. As a result, China has become one of the fastest-growing economies in terms of innovation. Tianwen-2 has embarked on its “star-chasing” journey; construction has begun on the Yajiang Hydropower Project; and China’s first electromagnetic catapult-equipped aircraft carrier has officially entered service. Humanoid robots have unveiled their “Kung Fu mode,” while drones have put on dazzling “firework” displays. Innovation and creativity are giving rise to a new quality of productive forces and making our lives richer and more colorful.

We nourish our spiritual home through culture. The enthusiasm for cultural and museum experiences and intangible cultural heritage continues to soar; the World Heritage List keeps adding new members; Sun Wukong and Nezha have swept across the globe, and traditional Chinese aesthetics have become the “top-tier” style favored by young people. The cultural and tourism market is booming, with “city super leagues” and “village super leagues” buzzing with excitement, and winter sports are igniting passion during the cold season. As tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, Chinese culture is radiating an even more brilliant glow.

Together, we create and share a better life. I traveled to Tibet and Xinjiang to attend celebratory events. From the snow-covered plateaus to the northern and southern slopes of the Tian Shan Mountains, people of all ethnic groups have joined hands and hearts, holding each other tightly like pomegranate seeds. With pure white khadas and passionate songs and dances, they express their deep love for the motherland and their heartfelt praise for happiness. No matter how small, every aspect of people’s livelihood matters; every detail reflects our care and concern. Over the past year, the rights and interests of newly employed groups have been further protected. Age-friendly renovations have brought convenience to the elderly, and families raising children now receive an additional monthly subsidy of 300 yuan. From daily necessities like firewood, rice, oil, and salt to the three meals a day and four seasons of the year—every “little home” is bustling with warmth and vitality. And as each “little home” thrives, China—the “big family”—continues to flourish and prosper.

We continue to open our hearts and embrace the world. The SCO Tianjin Summit and the Global Women’s Summit were successfully held, and the Hainan Free Trade Port has begun full-scale operations under closed-border management across the entire island. To better address climate change, China has announced a new round of Nationally Determined Contributions. Following the “Three Initiatives,” I have put forward the Global Governance Initiative, aiming to promote the building of a global governance system that is more just and equitable. Today, the world is fraught with turmoil and upheaval, and some regions remain engulfed in the flames of war. China always stands on the right side of history and is ready to join hands with all countries to foster world peace and development and advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Not long ago, I attended the opening ceremony of the National Games. It was heartening to see Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao working together in solidarity and harmony. We must unswervingly uphold the principle of “One Country, Two Systems,” support Hong Kong and Macao in better integrating into the broader national development landscape, and ensure their long-term prosperity and stability. Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait share a bond as close as blood—history’s grand trend toward the reunification of the motherland is unstoppable!

Only when the Party thrives can the nation become strong. We have launched in-depth study and education on the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation, firmly established trust through practical actions, rigorously governed the Party, and promoted self-reform by eliminating corruption and fostering renewal—resulting in a sustained improvement in Party and government conduct. We must remain steadfast in our original aspirations and mission, persevere with unwavering determination, and continue to provide satisfactory answers to the “cave-dwelling question” posed in Yan'an, thus writing a new chapter worthy of the people in our times.

2026 marks the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Those who set out with vigor are bound to aim for the ultimate goal; those who achieve success have carefully planned from the very beginning. We must firmly anchor ourselves to our goals and tasks, maintain unwavering confidence, seize the momentum, and steadily promote high-quality development. We should further deepen reform and opening-up in a comprehensive manner, advance common prosperity for all the people, and write a new chapter in China’s remarkable achievements.

In our quest to chase dreams across mountains and seas, we’ll find that the journey is not as distant as it seems. Though the road ahead stretches far and wide, let us stride forward with bold determination. Let’s summon the courage to leap onto our horses and whip them into action, ignite the vibrant energy of ten thousand galloping steeds, and maintain an unrelenting drive. Together, let’s strive relentlessly for our dreams and work tirelessly for happiness, turning our grand visions into a beautiful reality.

The rising sun of the New Year is about to shine. May our motherland boast magnificent mountains and rivers, and may its land be abundant and fertile—may the Chinese nation bask in the morning glow!
