On July 17, 2025, the Guangdong Provincial Investment Project Online Approval and Supervision Platform released the pre-public announcement of the feasibility study report for the Jiangxin Island tourism infrastructure project in Wuchuan City. The project is located in the Jiangxin Island and surrounding areas of the Jianjiang River in Wuchuan City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, and is invested by the Wuchuan Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports with 58,108.98 million yuan. This project will be constructed in three phases.
Phase 1 Construct a new Jiangxin Island scenic bridge, reinforce and renovate existing bridges (Tongdecheng direction); construct a new national fitness center, public toilets, and outdoor sports fields; renovate and reinforce the sports center; lay plastic running tracks in the stadium and install LED lights; renovate the basketball court; add power distribution equipment, electrical lines, and sewage pipe laying projects.
Phase 2 Construct a new bridge (Zhenwen direction), widen the archway pedestrian square, and demolish and renovate Zhenxing Road and Gantang Road; construct a new national fitness center photovoltaic carport, night fountain, lawn terrace, viewing platform, waterfront platform, and boardwalk platform, renovate the leisure area road network, wetland waterfront platform, and park, recycle and repair the swimming pool, add night lighting, VI signs, and water supply and drainage projects, and add sports and fitness equipment, intelligent management facilities, and parking guidance systems.
Phase 3 Construct a new Shuikoudu pedestrian bridge, renovate the Yanjiang Road Greenway, and renovate the Shuikoudu Wetland Park.
Specific construction content is as follows:
Wuchuan City Jiangxin Island Tourism Infrastructure Project (Phase 1)
1. Transportation Facilities Project
① Newly built part: Existing connecting Jiangxin Island scenic bridge widened and newly built vehicle main bridge (Tongdecheng direction) with one entry and one exit island, each 165 meters long and 10 meters wide, totaling 3300 square meters; existing connecting Jiangxin Island scenic bridge widened and newly built vehicle approach bridge (Tongdecheng direction) 440 square meters.
② Renovation part: Existing bridge reinforcement and renovation of pedestrian flower bridge (Tongdecheng direction) 1650 square meters.
2. Jiangxin Island Internal Infrastructure Renovation Project
(1) Construction Project
① Newly built part:
National Fitness Center 22300 square meters (including 500 parking spaces and charging piles); National Fitness Center tourism publicity corridor 1000 square meters; stadium stand canopy (photovoltaic panels) 3770 square meters; add stands and canopy to the west side of the sports center 1500 square meters; 2700 seats on the west side of the sports center; 4 LED scoreboards in the sports center; 2 new public toilets 200 square meters; add outdoor sports fields (1/2 basketball court, tennis court, table tennis court) 1240 square meters.
② Renovation part:
Sports center exterior renovation 3500 square meters; sports center structural reinforcement 4000 square meters; sports center main building exterior renovation 3520 square meters; renovation of existing public toilets 2 totaling 190 square meters; stadium laying of main and auxiliary field plastic running tracks 14000 square meters; stadium installation of 6 poles of 18-lamp LED lights; renovation of existing outdoor basketball court 1200 square meters.
(2) Supporting part:
① Substation and power distribution equipment (National Fitness Center);
② Electrical wiring project (National Fitness Center);
③ Sewage pipe laying project (National Fitness Center);
④ Sewage pipe (DN300) cross-river laying project 280 meters.
1. Transportation Facilities Project
(1) New projects:
① Add a connecting Jiangxin Island scenic bridge main bridge (Zhenwen direction) 220 meters long and 26 meters wide, totaling 5720 square meters;
② Connecting Jiangxin Island scenic bridge approach bridge (Zhenwen direction) 300 square meters.
(2) Renovation projects:
① Jiangxin Island archway pedestrian square widening project 1800 square meters;
② Zhenwen Town branch road Zhenxing Road renovation 530 meters long and 16 meters wide, totaling 8480 square meters;
③ Zhenwen Town secondary road Gantang Road renovation 580 meters long and 20 meters wide, totaling 11600 square meters;
④ Zhenxing Road renovation demolition of 3 factories, covering an area of 900 square meters and a construction area of 1500 square meters;
⑤ Gantang Road renovation demolition of 6 brick-concrete residential houses, covering an area of 600 square meters and a construction area of 1500 square meters.
2. Jiangxin Island Internal Infrastructure Renovation Project
(1) Construction project: National Fitness Center rooftop photovoltaic carport 8000 square meters.
(2) Garden part:
① Newly built part: Night fountain 1 item; outdoor marriage registration, lawn terrace 500 square meters; west bank soil and water conservation revetment project 980 meters long; add 2 viewing wooden platforms on the west bank, totaling 930 square meters; agricultural product display center embankment cafe waterfront platform (glass house) 600 square meters; add boardwalk platform at the library location 1500 square meters.
② Renovation part: Ecological leisure area road network renovation 3800 square meters; wetland waterfront platform renovation (including aquatic plants) 5416 square meters; park renovation 1 item; recycling of swimming pool, above-ground attachments and maintenance 1 item.
(3) Supporting part:
① Night lighting renovation;
② VI identification system;
③Water supply and drainage engineering (automatic irrigation system).
(4) Facility procurement section:
①Fitness facilities for the elderly;
②Outdoor sports facilities;
③Children's playground facilities;
④Sports facilities for the National Fitness Center;
⑤Park intelligent management service facilities;
⑥Jiangxin Island intelligent parking guidance system.
Wuchuan City Jiangxin Island Cultural Tourism Infrastructure Project (Phase III)
1. Transportation Facilities Project
(1) New projects:
①Shuikoudu Bridge added pedestrian bridge (cable-stayed bridge) 370 meters long, 6 meters wide, 2220 square meters;
②Shuikoudu Bridge pedestrian bridge approach bridge (including Pocket Park approach bridge, Wetland Park approach bridge, and Jiang Road approach bridge) 300 square meters.
(2) Renovation projects:
①Jiang Road riverside greenway project 13000 square meters;
②Shuikoudu Wetland Park garden renovation 73000 square meters.
