On June 12, 2025, the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA) successfully held the 2025 China Parent-Child Tourism Innovation and Development Forum in Shanghai. The forum, themed "Child-Friendly, Family Happiness, Industry Prosperity," aimed to foster a shared understanding of child-friendliness, share innovative achievements of enterprises, and explore new avenues for industry development. It further supports and promotes innovation and high-quality development in China's children's cause and parent-child tourism industry, better meeting the diverse, multi-level, and multifaceted spiritual and cultural needs of the people.

Yao Jun, President of the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions

In his address, Yao Jun, President of the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, stated that children are the future of the nation, the cornerstone of shaping the future of society, and parent-child tourism embodies families' aspirations for a better life, as well as the nation's and people's ardent hopes for the next generation. Driven by the combined efforts of government guidance, market leadership, and social participation, China's parent-child tourism market is currently experiencing continuous expansion, with increasingly diverse product forms and steadily improving service quality. From traditional theme parks, zoos, and museums to emerging research and study travel bases and rural parent-child tourism projects, a wide variety of parent-child tourism products are emerging, meeting the diverse consumption needs of different families, injecting new impetus into tourism economic growth, and becoming an important vehicle for meeting the needs of the people for a happy life and enhancing their sense of fulfillment in the new era.

Yuan Lixin, Director of the China Children's Center

Yuan Lixin, Director of the China Children's Center, in his address at the meeting, stated that with the deepening of China's modernization drive and the rise in people's living standards, families' pursuit of quality education and a better life is growing. Parent-child tourism, as a typical industry model that deeply integrates the cultural and tourism industry with children's development, has transcended the simple realm of family leisure and become an important force in promoting children's healthy growth and all-round development. Promoting the innovative development of parent-child tourism is an important action that responds to the call of the times, serves national strategies, and empowers the nation's future. It should prioritize education, making parent-child tourism a classroom on the go; adhere to child-friendliness as a standard, creating a safe and comfortable tourism environment; and aim for high quality, promoting the sustainable development of parent-child tourism.
