During the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the national culture and tourism market remained generally stable and orderly. According to calculations by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Data Center, domestic tourism reached 107 million person-times, a 6.3% increase compared to the same period in 2019 (based on comparable data); total domestic tourist spending reached 51.047 billion yuan, an 8.0% increase compared to the same period in 2019.

Mid-Autumn Festival Culture and Tourism Consumption Market Conditions in Some Provinces and Cities Nationwide


Beijing:
During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the city received a total of 8.172 million tourists, with total tourism consumption of 10.36 billion yuan; among these, the 212 key monitored tourist attractions (areas) received a total of 7.691 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%, and 1.4 times the number in 2019; total operating revenue reached 362.295 million yuan, 1.3 times that of 2019. The city organized a total of 403 cultural activities and 425 events, holding 281 performances and 932 shows, fully promoting the improvement, upgrading, and efficiency enhancement of culture and tourism.

Chongqing:

During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the city received a total of 7.765 million domestic tourists, with tourism revenue of 5.269 billion yuan. Average tourist spending was 678.6 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%. Tourist Attractions Mid-Autumn Festival Holiday 130 key monitored tourist attractions in the city received a cumulative total of 1.83 million tourists


Guangdong Province

According to preliminary estimates, from September 15th to 17th, the province received 21.357 million tourists a 13.6% increase compared to the same period in 2019 (based on comparable data, the same below) achieving tourism revenue of 10.4 billion yuan a 16.3% increase compared to the same period in 2019. The province's 4A-level and above tourist attractions received 6.786 million tourists, a 10.5% increase compared to the same period in 2019; 13 key red tourism classic attractions under monitoring received a total of 514,000 tourists, a 10.9% increase compared to the same period in 2019; 14 key sections of the ancient post road under monitoring received 939,000 tourists, a 7.8% increase compared to the same period in 2019; 100 rural tourism sites and historical villages under monitoring received 1.275 million tourists, a 11.8% increase compared to the same period in 2019; 75 key public cultural institutions under monitoring received 589,000 tourists, a 12.6% increase compared to the same period in 2019. The province's culture and tourism holiday market was safe, stable, and prosperous.


Jiangsu Province:
Jiangsu Province (affected by the typhoon): A total of 6.1003 million tourists were received at 639 A-level tourist attractions, 195 provincial-level and above key rural tourism villages, 45 provincial-level and above night-time cultural and tourism consumption gathering areas, and 84 museums under monitoring in the province, with tourist spending of 2.262 billion yuan.

Henan Province:
During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Henan Province received a total of 18.845 million domestic tourists, with tourism revenue of 9.16 billion yuan. Compared to the same period in 2019, the number of tourists and tourism revenue increased by 16.4% and 14.9%, respectively. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of tourists and tourism revenue increased by 18.9% and 22.8%, respectively.

Hunan Province:
During the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the province received a total of 16.7913 million tourists, including 10.4377 million overnight tourists (62.16%), and 6.3536 million day-trip tourists (37.84%); 1.9709 million tourists were from outside the province (11.74%), and 14.8205 million tourists were from within the province (88.26%). The average length of stay for overnight tourists during the three-day holiday was 1.652 days, 1.71 days for overnight tourists from outside the province, and 1.65 days for overnight tourists from within the province. According to UnionPay's big data modeling and analysis, the average daily spending per tourist in the province was 570.25 yuan. It is estimated that the total tourist spending in the province during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday reached 13.414 billion yuan.


Sichuan Province:

During this year's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the 867 A-level tourist attractions in Sichuan under statistical monitoring received a cumulative total of 10.0812 million tourists, with ticket revenue of 81.5776 million yuan. Provincial libraries, cultural centers, and museums received a total of 1.966 million visitors.


Liaoning Province:

During the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Liaoning received a total of 12.882 million tourists, a 31.1% increase compared to the same period in 2019 (based on comparable data); tourism revenue reached 9.26 billion yuan, a 33.2% increase compared to the same period in 2019 (based on comparable data).


Shaanxi Province:

According to sampling estimates, during the holiday period, the province received 13.2007 million domestic tourists, with total spending of 7.05 billion yuan. The 51 key tourist attractions under key monitoring in the province received a total of 1.3772 million tourists. Monitoring of 11 national-level night-time cultural and tourism consumption gathering areas, including the Xi'an Datang Everbright City pedestrian street, showed that the cumulative passenger flow during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday was 1.5542 million, with a turnover of 133.8743 million yuan. Various cultural venues across the province remained open, holding 3482 cultural events, benefiting 2.2696 million people.


Fujian Province:

During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Fujian Province received 6.8615 million tourists, with tourist spending of 5.196 billion yuan, representing increases of 28.8% and 37.7%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2019.
