National Bureau of Statistics releases 2023 national added value share of culture, tourism, agriculture and related industries

In 2023, the added value of national culture and related industries was 5,946.4 billion yuan, accounting for 4.59% of GDP, an increase of 0.17 percentage points over the previous year.
By industry, in 2023, the added value of cultural services was 4,115.8 billion yuan, accounting for 69.2% of the total added value of culture and related industries, an increase of 2.3 percentage points over the previous year; the added value of cultural manufacturing was 1,216.8 billion yuan, accounting for 20.5%, a decrease of 2.6 percentage points over the previous year; and the added value of cultural wholesale and retail was 613.8 billion yuan, accounting for 10.3%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points over the previous year.
In 2023, the added value of national tourism and related industries was 5,483.2 billion yuan, accounting for 4.24% of GDP, an increase of 0.57 percentage points over the previous year.
From the internal structure, the added value of the tourism industry was 4,989.0 billion yuan, accounting for 91.0% of the added value of tourism and related industries, an increase of 1.7 percentage points over the previous year. The added value of tourism-related industries was 494.2 billion yuan, accounting for 9.0% of the added value of tourism and related industries, a decrease of 1.7 percentage points over the previous year.
In 2023, the added value of national agriculture and related industries was 19,853.4 billion yuan, accounting for 15.34% of GDP. By three industries, the proportions of added value in the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries within agriculture and related industries were 44.9%, 27.0%, and 28.1% respectively. The primary industry had the largest scale and highest proportion of added value.
Looking at major categories of agriculture and related industries, the added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery; processing and manufacturing of edible agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery products; and circulation services for agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery and related products ranked among the top three, accounting for 47.3%, 19.2%, and 15.6% of the total added value of agriculture and related industries, respectively.
