Two large roller coasters are under construction simultaneously at Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park!

Shijingshan Amusement Park, located in Beijing, is an old amusement park in Beijing. Currently, Shijingshan Amusement Park has two large rolling roller coasters under construction.

Cupid Roller Coaster

Replacing the rolling roller coaster "Atomic Coaster" produced by Japan's Senyo Corporation, which has stood since the opening of Shijingshan Amusement Park in 1986, is the new domestically produced rolling roller coaster "Cupid Roller Coaster".

On the official page that can be found, the "Cupid Roller Coaster" has a total track length of 710m, a maximum speed of 76km/h, and has "one heart-shaped loop, two spiral loops, and one banana loop". Translated into standard roller coaster track element terminology, it should be Roll Over, Corkscrew, and Cobra Roll. Obviously, the manufacturer has deconstructed the "Roll Over" element into a "heart shape" to match the romantic element selling point.

Roll Over roller coaster track elements are not common in China. This element is most commonly found in standard template-type suspended rolling roller coasters produced by Vekoma in the Netherlands, but when Chinese amusement parks introduce this type of roller coaster, they prefer to use its variant, the "Shenlin" type (Happy Valley, I'm talking about you). When subsequent domestic manufacturers imitated production, they did not use the classic track path, and the first rolling element is always the traditional vertical loop (Loop).

Representative Roll Over element roller coasters, such as "Maya Adventure" in Nantou, Taiwan's Nine Nations Cultural Village, and the "Suspended Roller Coaster" in Suzhou Old Suzhou Amusement Park in Jiangsu (the latter has been permanently closed).

The manufacturer of the "Cupid Roller Coaster" has had unsatisfactory comfort and riding experience in its previous works. We believe there will be some improvements in the new roller coaster, and we will continue to monitor the situation after the roller coaster is completed and opened.

Shenzhou Roller Coaster

The "Shenzhou Roller Coaster", a suspended rolling roller coaster opened in 2005 at Shijingshan Amusement Park, was the first large-scale suspended rolling roller coaster made in China, and it can be said to have a certain milestone significance.

Old Shenzhou Roller Coaster

In subsequent series of products, the manufacturer Shibao Lai has continuously optimized the roller coaster. However, as a pilot-type first-generation product, it is difficult to say that the riding experience of "Shenzhou" is satisfactory.

When Shijingshan Amusement Park updates its amusement equipment, it often tends to eliminate products that have reached their operating life and replace them with similar products.

Old Shenzhou Roller Coaster

The old "Shenzhou" has been closed for several years, but the amusement park has not demolished it. From the current situation, Shijingshan Amusement Park seems to plan to rebuild the "Shenzhou Roller Coaster" on its original site.

After removing the "remains" of the old car, a new lift hill support has been erected on the current construction site.

In recent years, similar suspended rolling roller coasters produced by Chinese manufacturers have made great progress in track smoothness and riding comfort. We believe that these transformations will also benefit the new "Shenzhou".
