According to incomplete statistics from the China Association of Travel Agencies (CAAPA), this week (May 23-30), there were 63 key cultural and tourism projects signed and updated domestically, with the highest signed amount of 2 billion yuan. The signing briefing is as follows:
On May 24, at the 21st China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, relevant enterprises in Hubei Province completed the signing of six major cultural industry projects with a total value of 2.83 billion yuan, covering multiple fields such as cultural and tourism development, film and television industry, ecological tourism, and education complexes. The signing of six major cultural projects demonstrates the strong momentum of the integrated development of Hubei's cultural tourism and cultural industries.
In the field of cultural and tourism development, the government of Jiyukou Town, Qianjiang City, signed a contract with Hubei Dafengche Education Development Co., Ltd. for the "Jieliao Lake Parent-Child Research and Study Camp and Jieliao Lake Cultural Tourism Project," building an immersive lobster-themed research and study village.
In the film and television industry, Hubei Changjiang Film Group cooperated with Wuhan Ershi Sanlou Film and Television Co., Ltd. to build the Changjiang Micro-short Drama Base in Ezhou Honglian Lake;
Cooperated with Wuhan Jiangxia Economic Development Investment Group Co., Ltd. to build the Central China Film and Television Industry Base;
Cooperated with Zhixiang Future (Hefei) Information Technology Co., Ltd. on the "Film and Television Artificial Intelligence" project, exploring the deep integration of "culture + technology".
The people's government of Fancheng District, Xiangyang City, signed a contract with Hubei Haofengguang Education Technology Co., Ltd. for the Sunshine Education Industry Complex project, which will create an educational benchmark integrating art, sports, and science and technology training;
The people's government of Baokang County cooperated with Yichang Xingfa Group Co., Ltd. to develop the Jiulu Zhai Scenic Area, planning to build a national 5A-level ecological tourism destination.
On May 23, a total of 14 projects were signed at the 2025 Quanzhou State-owned Assets and State-owned Enterprises Investment Promotion Conference, with a total investment of 14.1 billion yuan. Among them, the Wuzhu Yinxiang Cultural, Commercial, and Tourism Complex Project recommended by Nan'an City participated in the signing ceremony.
It is reported that the project is expected to have an investment of 2 billion yuan, covering a planned area of 130 mu, with a total planned area of 257,000 square meters. It plans to build a one-stop three-dimensional composite street block, creating a cultural, commercial, and tourism complex project including commercial, residential, and educational facilities, building a smart new home and a vibrant new business district, and becoming a new urban landmark.
Among them, the Urumqi Ice and Snow World site construction project is invested and constructed by Shenzhen Nanyu International Culture Media Co., Ltd. The project plans to integrate ice and snow art, folk customs, and modern technology to create an immersive ice and snow park that combines ice sculptures, light and shadow shows, ice and snow entertainment, and cultural experiences.
Xinjiang Intangible Cultural Heritage (Mukam Art) Protection, Inheritance, and Development Project is located northwest of the Jiujiawan Reservoir in Shayibake District, east of the West Outer Ring Road, and west of Qialibake Street, covering an area of 34.35 mu, with a total construction area of 48,521.91 square meters.
Xingyao 2040 Digital Cultural Creative Park Project is located in the High-tech Zone (Xinshi District). The park uses the "Five Stars from the East" element as its creative concept, planning to use digital technology to showcase the historical culture of the Han Dynasty, using artificial intelligence generative narrative space, combined with real-scene layout and digital means, allowing tourists to experience the unique charm of the "ancient Silk Road market". The park will also use artificial intelligence, VR, and other advanced technologies to plan and construct an "International Conference Center", a "Future Technology Exhibition Center", and a "Xinjiang Digital Research Center", aiming to create the country's first visual immersive street block that integrates history and modernity, technology and art, and culture and commerce.
High-speed Rail Xinjiang Music and Talent Live Broadcast Stage Project is jointly created by Xinjiang Fengxing Culture and Beijing Manshengyuan Media, located in the south square of Urumqi Station. The project plans to build an open-air stage integrating cultural performances, talent competitions, and night-time economy, aiming to become a new urban cultural landmark for citizens and tourists to "stop, interact, and share".

It is understood that the East China Sea Millennium Love Scenic Area will build a comprehensive tourism destination integrating performing arts appreciation, cultural experience, and leisure entertainment, casting the mountain and sea veins and humanistic epic of Taizhou into an immersive experience. The project not only introduces cutting-edge technology to empower stage presentations but also focuses on innovatively conveying cultural confidence, allowing historical heritage to be revitalized in a younger and more international way. The core performance of the scenic area, "East China Sea Millennium Love" recreates the magnificent epic of the ancestors along the East China Sea coast pursuing waves through immersive stage technology. The real-scene show "Maritime Silk Road" will stage the magnificent chapter of the Chinese people exploring the ocean and connecting the world for two thousand years. In addition, the project will also integrate the heroic spirit and poetic heritage of Chinese and Western cultural history, through walking performances, mythology shows, light and shadow shows, parent-child shows, ethnic shows, Silk Road shows, and large-scale parades, showcasing the cultural collision of different eras.
Project Signing Ceremony
On May 23, the "Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Journey" immersive night tour project was officially announced to be located in Longhua, Shenzhen.
As a derivative of the "Harry Potter" movie IP, the "Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Journey" immersive night tour project is jointly created by Roman Shares/Holovis and Only One Culture. It has been successfully launched in countries and regions such as the UK, Belgium, and the US, and has been widely welcomed.
This landing in Longhua means that the world's top IP night tour project - "Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Journey" - has entered China for the first time, stimulating the transformation and upgrading of the tourism industry with innovative communication methods and consumption forms, promoting the upgrading of cultural consumption, and pushing the Longhua tourism industry towards a higher level of development.

Shanghai Lego Land held a project handover ceremony

On the morning of May 26, a handover ceremony for the Shanghai LEGOLAND Resort project was held. The project team handed over a key made of LEGO bricks to the operations team, marking the official entry of China's first LEGOLAND into the final sprint before opening.
It is understood that the Shanghai LEGOLAND Resort will conduct internal stress tests from May 31 to June 19, and will begin trial operations from June 20 to July 4. During this period, the resort will continuously collect visitor feedback and make timely adjustments and improvements to ensure that visitors receive high-standard services and recreational experiences.
On May 28, the Lingling Wildlife Kingdom Phase II Project in Ezhou, Hubei Province, broke ground at the southern foot of Geshan Mountain. As an extension and upgrade of the Phase I project, the Phase II project will further expand the park's scale, enrich its business formats, and enhance the visitor experience.
It is understood that the Phase II project has a total investment of 1.21 billion yuan and covers an area of 1,500 mu. It innovatively adopts a three-in-one model of "animal protection + ecological restoration + cultural tourism operation," focusing on the construction of five functional sections:
• The Ezhou South City Parking Lot project will add 2,000 ecological parking spaces, comprehensively improving the scenic area's reception capacity;
• The Ezhou Grassland Camp project will use innovative display methods to allow tourists to observe animals up close in a safe area, enhancing the close relationship between people and animals;
• The Geshan South Slope Ecological Forest Park project will build an ecological barrier through vegetation restoration, improving the environmental quality of the entire project area;
• After completion, the Ezhou City Wildlife Rescue Center will provide comprehensive services such as medical treatment, maintenance, and breeding;
• The Ezhou City Garden Expo Cultural Tourism Project will comprehensively upgrade and optimize the Phase I construction project.
Oriental Eden will officially open on June 28
On May 24, the Jiangsu Jiangyan Zhenhu InterContinental Hotel project officially started construction.
The project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan and a total construction area of over 70,000 square meters. Its functions include a banquet hall, an all-day dining restaurant, a swimming pool bar, six guest rooms with 158 rooms, four spa tea rooms, and a connecting lobby. The hotel design scheme is based on the geographical features of the water town, integrating the essence of classical gardens to create a garden-style vacation and travel living space experience. It is worth mentioning that a private bay will be created in the southern waters, where 15 boats of various styles will be moored, and guests will arrive by ferry, which is full of natural charm.
It is understood that this project is invested, constructed, and operated by China Communications Second Harbor Bureau. It covers an area of approximately 150 mu and is positioned as a dinosaur-themed parent-child exploration park. The original dinosaur image "Baobao" is a feature of Baobao Manor. The park includes three themed areas: Dream Village, Wonderful Garden, and Miracle Forest, aiming to create a comprehensive park integrating science popularization, research, and entertainment.
On May 24, a stress test was conducted at Wuhan Hengda Happy World, located on the banks of Longyang Lake in Hanyang and home to Wuhan's tallest Ferris wheel, to comprehensively test the load capacity and operational efficiency of its facilities, equipment, operational service support, and security and transportation systems. Final optimizations are being made before the official opening. It is understood that this newest amusement park in Wuhan will officially open to visitors on June 1, Children's Day.
Wuhan Hengda Happy World Phase I features 23 themed amusement projects, including three "Wuhan's best" amusement projects—the 89-meter-tall Ferris wheel "City Eye," the largest 70-seat pirate ship "Sea Wave Rhapsody," and the tallest small waist drift tower "Sky Mirror." In addition to the three core amusement facilities, the park also has roller coasters, carousels, bumper cars, and 11 other sets of classic large-scale projects suitable for visitors of different ages. For young children, the park has mini spinning cups, mini shuttles, go-karts, and 1 2 sets of safety-exempt equipment. There is also a carnival area with classic games such as ring toss, balloon darts, and claw machines.
Guangdong Zhongshan Panda Li Commercial Sports and Leisure Center Project Starts Construction
On the morning of May 27, the Zhongshan Panda Li Commercial Sports and Leisure Center project officially broke ground.
It is understood that the project, centered on a "sports industry +" diversified ecosystem, has a total investment of 150 million yuan and covers an area of approximately 22.73 mu. It will create a new type of comprehensive sports and tourism and leisure complex integrating hotels, a sports center, specialty restaurants, and leisure shopping, and will provide important supporting facilities for the 2025 National Games and international baseball and softball events.
It is understood that the project has a planned total investment of 120 million yuan. Leveraging the more than 80% forest coverage rate of Dayaoshan Mountain and over 2,000 types of medicinal plants, it focuses on the theme of "integrating medicine and tourism." It will focus on building a "medicine and tourism integration" experience area, developing characteristic industries such as medicinal diet workshops and health care therapy, and deeply integrating Yao medicine culture into the tourism experience.
The project plans to build an ecological campsite, a cliffside cluster of guesthouses, and Yao-style themed guesthouses. Combining mountain landscapes with Yao architectural features, it will create differentiated travel and accommodation products. Supporting industries such as medicinal tea workshops, creative markets, and agricultural and specialty product exhibitions will be introduced to form a full-chain service of "eating, lodging, traveling, shopping, entertainment," driving employment and entrepreneurship among surrounding villagers.
On May 24, Yongchuan Rongmei released news that the first phase of Chongqing Yongchuan District's Senlin New Paradise is officially completed and will open on May 31.
It is understood that Senlin New Paradise covers a total area of 230 mu and is divided into four sections: water world, dream grassland, power area, and non-power area. After opening, it can accommodate 6,500 people simultaneously for amusement and entertainment experiences. The second phase of the project will start construction next year, mainly focusing on homestays and forest economy.
On the evening of May 25, the "Selling Moon Dongting" Nanhu Night Tour officially launched at the 4th Hunan Tourism Development Conference.
According to the introduction, the "Selling Moon Dongting" Nanhu Night Tour uses "Poetic Realm, Fairy Realm, Secret Realm" as its narrative axis, taking the natural scenery of Yueyang Nanhu as its natural stage. Using cutting-edge technologies such as holographic projection and digital light and shadow, it tells the story of Dongting's millennium of culture in the beautiful rivers and lakes. Under the guidance of the Nanhu boatmen, tourists take a boat to travel through three realms: the poetic realm of rivers and lakes where mountains are scrolls and water is ink; the fairy realm where the Eight Immortals descend and bestow blessings; and the secret realm where Fan Li retreats and expresses his feelings for the mountains and waters. The three realms form an immersive scroll of "people in the painting," breaking through the boundaries of time and space and showcasing the harmonious dance of culture and reality.
The project innovatively integrates digital media art and drone performance technology, relying on fog systems, fragrance systems, and wire effects to build a mobile cultural experience space, creating an immersive scene of water and shore interaction with "flying dragons soaring to the sky and the bright moon rising from the lake." Under the combined effect of sound, light, and electricity, 360° surround-screen light and shadow interact with the real scene, and ten performance scenes such as Taibai Selling Moon, Drunken Immortal Dongting, Dragon King Accompanying the Boat, and Lakeside Fishing Fires appear before the eyes, allowing tourists to experience the grandeur and romance of Yueyang's river and lake culture firsthand.
Art Sea Art World, Qingdao, Shandong
Starts Trial Operation

On May 28, Art Sea Art World, the first domestic immersive ocean science education base centered on the "Ocean Metaverse," began its trial operation.
It is understood that Art Sea Art World covers an area of 2,600 square meters and is an integrated ocean culture and entertainment complex that combines an indoor theme park, an art experience space, an AI creation space, a sports and trendy play space, and a multi-dimensional dynamic cinema. It customizes a fantastic journey from the origin of the ocean to future civilization for visitors of all ages. The project focuses on two dimensions: "immersive experience" and "interactive co-creation."
